What you will do

• Design and deploy production-grade system software components for driverless vehicles, from prototyping to launch.
• Maintain and upgrade the Telematics unit's operating system, including the Linux kernel, device drivers, and core OS services.
• Implement robust, high-performance networking solutions for reliable data transfer over Wi-Fi and cellular modems.
• Develop comprehensive testing methodologies and automated hardware-software testing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with SoC vendors, ODMs, and internal teams to solve cross-disciplinary system challenges.
• Contribute to the design of depot network topologies for efficient vehicle servicing.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• 3+ years of experience developing, debugging, and deploying software in a Linux environment.
• Strong understanding of the IP-based networking stack and its configuration in Linux.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with Embedded Linux build systems like Yocto or Buildroot.
• Experience in Linux kernel and device driver development.
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi, cellular, and Bluetooth protocols.
• Ability to read schematics/datasheets and use oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic analyzers.
• Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing stations.
