What you will do

• Own development of end-to-end embedded software features from concept through delivery.
• Design architectures and development plans for embedded software running on multiple platforms.
• Implement device drivers and perform bring-up for new hardware for the first time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams at Latitude and Ford to resolve dependencies.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide program direction through deep technical analysis.
• Establish and refine best practices for safety-critical embedded software development.

Requirements

• Expertise in C and C++ for embedded software development.
• Experience with FreeRTOS and SafeRTOS development on ARM architectures.
• Knowledge of safety standards: ISO26262, SOTIF, and ASPICE.
• Experience with secure boot, secure communication, and secure key management.
• Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, or Robotics with 7+ years of experience (or advanced degree with 5+/2+ years).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Nice to have

• Experience using the gtest framework for unit test development.
• Expertise in Linux-based software development including Python, Bazel, and Docker.
• Experience with Automotive Ethernet, UDS, DOIP, or Some/IP.
• Development of software tools and infrastructure to improve developer experience.
