Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, Canada (2-3 days onsite)

Salary: C$112,200 – C$143,600 per year

What you will do

• Set up and run advanced cloth, hair, rigid body, crowd, and muscle simulations in Houdini.
• Perform creature rigging and enveloping for hero assets, vehicles, and props in Maya.
• Troubleshoot creature CFX and pipeline issues for artists across different disciplines.
• Develop script utilities, tools, and plug-ins in Maya.
• Mentor entry-level artists and participate in technical reviews and dailies.
• Optimize simulation performance through advanced CFX techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in VFX (or 7+ years in lieu of a degree).
• Expertise with Houdini and proficiency with Linux.
• Experience in advanced simulation shotwork and corrective sculpting.
• Knowledge of anatomy and enveloping.
• Experience with Python or VEX scripting.
• Must be based in or able to work in Vancouver, BC (Hybrid setup)

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced hero asset rigging and enveloping in Maya.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Basic knowledge in Modeling, Texturing, TD, or Animation.
