What you will do

• Lead projects to create and develop novel nucleic acid-based diagnostic tests, from planning to optimization.
• Design and execute high-complexity experiments and perform basic statistical data analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with statistics, bioinformatics, product development, and project management teams.
• Document research progress within a Quality Management System.
• Provide leadership and management to research associates and junior scientists.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in molecular biology or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience (or 2 years post-doc + 6 years industry).
• Expertise in designing and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA/RNA molecular biology experiments.
• Proficiency with PCR, multiplex PCR, qPCR, and digital droplet PCR.
• Must be based in or able to work in San Carlos, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in NIPT, liquid biopsy, or women's health molecular diagnostics.
• Knowledge of multiomics, epigenetic/methylation, target enrichment, and cfDNA/RNA.
• Bioinformatic capabilities, including Python, PERL, and SQL.
