Salary: $128,000 - $198,000 USD

hirify.global is building Scientific Superintelligence by combining advanced AI models with proprietary AI Science Factory instruments to execute the entire scientific method autonomously.

What you will do

  • Design and optimize characterization workflows for magnetic and superconducting materials using techniques like VSM/SQUID and transport measurements.
  • Analyze complex datasets to extract critical material properties including critical temperatures and magnetic ordering.
  • Collaborate with ML scientists and systems engineers to integrate characterization outputs into closed-loop autonomous workflows.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for sample preparation, instrument calibration, and quality control.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation to sustain high-throughput operational performance.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
  • Expertise in characterization of magnetic or superconducting materials (VSM, SQUID, PPMS).
  • Strong understanding of the physics of magnetism, superconductivity, or condensed matter phenomena.
  • Experience making measurements on both materials and prototype devices.
  • Must be based in or have authorization to work in the USA.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with XRD, TEM, SEM, or spectroscopy.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and workflow automation.
  • Experience with custom instrumentation or autonomous laboratory environments.
  • Background in multiple material classes such as oxides, intermetallics, or 2D materials.
