Location: On-site in Elizabeth, NJ. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $150,000 - $180,000

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end analytical strategy for GC-MS programs, including method design and validation frameworks.
• Develop and evolve sample preparation methodologies for fragrance compounds using headspace, LLE, SPE, and SPME.
• Maintain and optimize a high-throughput analytical pipeline to ensure data integrity for ML workflows.
• Collaborate with Platform and ML teams to define how analytical data is structured and leveraged computationally.
• Mentor junior and mid-level scientists, establishing scientific best practices and reviewing work for integrity.
• Author and audit experimental protocols and SOPs.

Requirements

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 5+ years of post-degree experience.
• Deep expertise in GC-MS method development for targeted quantitation and untargeted profiling.
• Advanced proficiency in sample preparation techniques for complex matrices.
• Experience with MassHunter Qual/Quant or comparable analysis platforms.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and operate with high autonomy.
• Work authorization for the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in the flavor and fragrance industry, specifically with odor-active compound analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for analytical data processing and pipeline automation.
• Experience contributing to analytical data infrastructure for ML models.
• Familiarity with chemometrics and multivariate data analysis.
• Experience with GC-Olfactometry and Gerstel robotic systems.
