What you will do

• Define long-term architectural strategy and technical standards across backend services and platform infrastructure.
• Scale distributed systems and improve performance of core services to ensure reliability.
• Establish engineering standards to improve consistency, maintainability, and operational readiness.
• Mentor Senior and Staff engineers through architecture reviews and technical coaching.
• Integrate agentic AI development tools into planning, implementation, testing, and review workflows.
• Identify and reduce high-impact technical debt and simplify organizational complexity as the platform scales.

Requirements

• Experience operating as a Principal Engineer, Architect, or senior Staff+ engineer.
• Deep expertise in designing and operating production-grade distributed systems.
• Strong backend engineering skills, ideally using Go.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects across multiple teams.
• Practical experience using agentic or AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) in professional workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience in open source, cybersecurity, or platform engineering.
• Expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Experience scaling multi-tenant systems.
• Architecture experience with React, TypeScript, Django, or Python.
