Salary: $215,000 – $270,000

What you will do
- Define long-term architectural strategy and technical standards across backend services and platform infrastructure.
- Scale distributed systems and improve performance of core services to ensure reliability.
- Establish engineering standards to improve consistency, maintainability, and operational readiness.
- Mentor Senior and Staff engineers through architecture reviews and technical coaching.
- Integrate agentic AI development tools into planning, implementation, testing, and review workflows.
- Identify and reduce high-impact technical debt and simplify organizational complexity as the platform scales.
Requirements
- Experience operating as a Principal Engineer, Architect, or senior Staff+ engineer.
- Deep expertise in designing and operating production-grade distributed systems.
- Strong backend engineering skills, ideally using Go.
- Must be based in the United States.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects across multiple teams.
- Practical experience using agentic or AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) in professional workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience in open source, cybersecurity, or platform engineering.
- Expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience scaling multi-tenant systems.
- Architecture experience with React, TypeScript, Django, or Python.
