What you will do

  • Analyze agriculture sector data on emissions and mitigation practices from peer-reviewed journals and official reports.
  • Manage methane reduction projects across multiple countries, leading stakeholder meetings and workshops.
  • Draft reports, white papers, and op-eds to advance methane reduction objectives.
  • Advocate for ambitious public policies and provide science-based inputs for regulatory changes.
  • Build collaborative networks with policymakers, scientists, and NGOs to deepen the shared perspective on agriculture strategy.
  • Oversee work by consultants and support budget management and fundraising efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agriculture economics, animal sciences, or veterinary sciences (MSc/MA preferred).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the livestock industry, specifically with cattle production systems in South America.
  • Expertise in South American agricultural policy and experience in GHG or environmental research.
  • Professional fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country of residence within Central or South America.
  • Willingness to travel internationally approximately 30% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Experience with environmental lobbying and advocacy.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and Portuguese.
