What you will do
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including wiring and equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on outside plant facilities.
- Execute physical field work including climbing poles, digging, burying cables, and working in utility access holes.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations during field operations.
- Collaborate with other technical personnel to resolve network issues.
- Support sales and marketing activities by directing customer-facing work and providing referrals.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Must be based in or able to work in Montpelier, VA.
- Ability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs) and utility covers (up to 150 lbs).
- Ability to work in confined spaces, work aloft, and operate outside in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
Nice to have
- Prior experience as a customer-facing telecom operations technician.
- Basic electricity training or certification.
- Experience with ADSL installation and repair.
- A+ or Network+ certifications.
