Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack): Investigating and resolving high-severity customer escalations and system failures within a legaltech AI platform with an accent on root cause analysis and long-term remediation. Location: Hybrid in San Francisco (USA) or Toronto (Canada)
Compensation: $184,728 – $249,926 (SF) / CA$158,525 – CA$215,000 (Toronto) + Equity

is a fast-growing vertical SaaS company using AI to close the justice gap for personal injury lawyers and victims.
What you will do
- Triage and resolve high-priority customer escalations across the product, diagnosing issues quickly and shipping reliable fixes.
- Own the full lifecycle of escalations, from initial investigation and customer updates to root cause analysis and long-term remediation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success and other engineering teams to coordinate resolutions.
- Identify recurring patterns in escalations to drive systemic improvements in monitoring, error handling, and failure modes.
- Define the product scope for fixes, considering the customer experience holistically and identifying deeper product gaps.
- Contribute to team tooling, including runbooks, observability workflows, and participate in rotating on-call coverage.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong debugging and investigative skills with comfort navigating unfamiliar codebases.
- Experience working across a full stack or deeply in backend systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly under pressure to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with observability tools (logs, traces, metrics) and production debugging.
- Must be based in or able to work from the San Francisco or Toronto hubs (Hybrid).
Nice to have
- Experience on reliability, platform, or infrastructure teams.
- Familiarity with Python, TypeScript, or the modern AI/ML stack.
- Experience with customer-facing SaaS products, especially in regulated industries.
- Background in on-call rotations, incident management, or escalation workflows.
