What you will do

• Design and build high-performance UI and APIs that integrate with AI-driven applications.
• Develop schemas and manage diverse data systems, including SQL, NoSQL, and Vector databases.
• Drive implementation of frontend and backend services focusing on performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Diagnose and optimize system bottlenecks to ensure high availability and low-latency performance.
• Leverage AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices to deploy production-grade systems at scale.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and scientists to integrate data pipelines into scientific workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8+ years of experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
• Strong backend expertise and Full Stack experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI.
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex backend challenges and balance scalability with performance.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants to drive productivity.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with scientists and data engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agents, RAG pipelines, tool-use protocols (MCP), or LLM orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with ORMs (SQLModel, Django) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Temporal, Dagster).
• Familiarity with Python science libraries such as pandas, numpy, scipy, jax, or pytorch.
• Background in laboratory software, robotics, or analytics for life and material sciences.
