Assembler/Break-Fix Technician (Hardware)

TL;DR

Location: Must currently reside in the Sterling, VA area; requires travel to U.S. border locations.

What you will do

• Fabricate and repair mission-critical components, including mounting hardware to panels and installing custom wiring and connectors.
• Configure BIOS settings, clone hard drives, and perform OS-level diagnostics using Windows CLI and Linux shell.
• Travel to CBP Ports of Entry to perform system maintenance, upgrades, and emergency troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Package and label controllers for shipment and maintain accurate repair, maintenance, and inventory records.
• Collaborate with engineering and software teams to support deployments and ensure system compliance.

Requirements

• Must currently reside in the Sterling, VA area.
• Experience: Bachelor's with 2-5 years, Master's with 0-3 years, or 8-10 years of experience without a degree.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux OS, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, hand/power tools, and CAT 6 signal cabling (testing and termination).
• Willingness to travel to U.S. border locations for installations and support (up to two weeks at a time).
