What you will do
- Build the People and Talent function from the ground up to support growth toward Series B.
- Lead clinical talent acquisition for MD, NP, and behavioral roles across multiple states.
- Develop a "People playbook" for multi-state expansion, including employment law, payroll, and benefits.
- Drive culture, retention, and engagement through eNPS programs and manager enablement.
- Partner with leadership on organizational design, compensation frameworks, and leveling.
- Oversee HR operations, payroll, and healthcare-specific compliance, including HIPAA and OIG checks.
Requirements
- 7–12 years in People/HR leadership with experience scaling companies from 30 to 150+ FTEs.
- Direct experience hiring clinicians in a multi-state environment.
- Deep fluency in multi-state employment law, specifically mandatory experience with California (CA).
- Proven player-coach orientation, capable of running executive searches and managing a team.
- Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area for hybrid work.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills and ability to communicate with the board and investors.
Nice to have
- Experience establishing an in-house recruiting function with agency/contractor support.
- Comfort with medical and behavioral health staffing markets.
- Direct experience preparing a People function for a Series B fundraising round.
