TL;DR

What you will do

  • Design and engineer fire alarm, detection, suppression, and smoke control life safety systems.
  • Develop compliant designs based on IBC, IFC, NFPA, and NEC codes.
  • Produce technical calculations, equipment sizing, system layouts, and specifications in 2D and 3D formats.
  • Create and review BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP in coordination with architects and other disciplines.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and state/local code officials to ensure project alignment.
  • Support construction, commissioning, and startup activities through field visits and vendor submittal reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm life safety systems engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
  • Working knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, and NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Ability to perform field work including climbing ladders and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities.
  • Familiarity with Edwards EST3 and EST4 Fire Alarm Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of additional NFPA standards (13, 75, 76, 2001, 400).
  • Experience with CCTV, security, or low voltage systems.
