What you will do

• Maintain operational and security capabilities of network gateways.
• Provide Tier II network engineering support and troubleshooting for the VA NOC.
• Respond to help desk escalations via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on network devices and services.
• Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on operational implementations.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass and maintain a Tier 4 (BI) Government background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 5 years of equivalent experience).
• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Solid knowledge of IP addressing, Subnetting, TCP/UDP, DNS, and Access-control lists.
• Understanding of routing, IPSec VPNs, and firewall management.
• Must be available for 2nd shift (Sunday-Wednesday).

Nice to have

• CCNA or CCNP certification.
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, or Cisco ISE.
• Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and MPLS environments.
• Experience with packet capture and analysis tools like Wireshark.
