Salary: $69,900 - $86,030 Annually

What you will do

• Maintain operational and security capabilities of network gateways.
• Provide Tier II network engineering support and troubleshooting for the VA NOC.
• Respond to help desk escalations via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on network devices and services.
• Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on operational implementations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 5 years of equivalent experience).
• Must be able to pass and maintain a Tier 4 (BI) Government background investigation.
• Firm knowledge of IP addressing, Subnetting, TCP/UDP, ACLs, and DNS.
• Understanding of NAT/PAT, Routing, and IPSec VPNs.
• Experience with Cisco CLI and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Ability to work 1st shift, Tuesday through Saturday.

Nice to have

• CCNA or CCNP certification (Route/Switch or Security).
• Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and MPLS environments.
• Experience with F5 Local/Global Traffic Managers.
• Familiarity with packet capture tools like Wireshark.
