AVP Finance (Fintech)

TL;DR

AVP Finance (Fintech): Overseeing general ledger reporting, monthly closing, and financial analysis for a global auto finance provider with an accent on GAAP compliance and SEC reporting. Focus on managing departmental resources, optimizing accounting processes, and leading financial audits.

Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in office). Must be based in Detroit, MI or DFW (Burnett), US. Quarterly travel to the alternate site is required.

What you will do

• Direct departmental activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting prioritization.
• Support SEC reporting, internal management reporting, and quarterly/year-end audits.
• Implement process and procedure improvements to enhance financial operations.
• Oversee general ledger systems, monitor performance, and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess projects impacting treasury and GL systems.
• Manage and develop team members through goal setting and performance assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7 years of experience at a supervisory level (7-10 years preferred).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and Accounting Standards Codification.
• Proficiency with Oracle reporting tools and advanced MS Office (Excel, Access).
• Must be based in Detroit or DFW with ability to travel quarterly.
• CPA certification is highly preferred.
