What you will do
- Architect and lead database modernization efforts to optimize large-scale systems for efficiency and reliability.
- Design and implement scalable data solutions and robust APIs to ensure seamless integration during high-traffic fundraising moments.
- Lead technical execution of cross-team initiatives, balancing high-impact opportunities with technical tradeoffs.
- Serve as a technical consultant for architectural decisions, system design, and best practices across the engineering organization.
- Coach and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of professional development and constructive feedback.
- Advocate for comprehensive monitoring and software quality standards to ensure long-term system maintainability.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of relevant professional experience with a track record of technical leadership.
- Must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work without sponsorship.
- Expertise in large monolithic server-side web applications (Ruby on Rails preferred).
- Deep understanding of performance, scalability, and security best practices.
- Experience designing and integrating with third-party APIs and building extensible systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and translate business goals into technical solutions.
