TL;DR

Site Crane and Rigging Superintendent (Engineering): Responsible for the safe and compliant execution of crane and rigging operations at project sites with an accent on OSHA compliance and lift planning. Focus on overseeing critical lifts, verifying rigging competency, and serving as the primary point of accountability for site lifting activities.

Location: Onsite in Beech Island, SC, US. No relocation available.

What you will do

  • Manage all crane and rigging operations to ensure absolute safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the designated Lift Director for critical and complex lifts, overseeing planning and execution.
  • Perform and verify crane inspections (annual, monthly, frequent) according to OSHA and manufacturer standards.
  • Evaluate and document rigger competency and provide necessary coaching or retraining.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Crane and Rigging leadership regarding certifications and lift plans.
  • Exercise authority to stop any crane or rigging operation deemed unsafe or non-compliant.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction field leadership experience on equivalent projects.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing scaffolds) in extreme weather and outdoor conditions.
  • Construction Management or Engineering degree (preferred).

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues.
  • Experience with professional Lift Plans.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and cost code labor productivity systems.
  • Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills.
