TL;DR

Assistant Lawyer / Solicitor (Regulatory): Handling complex health & safety, regulatory, and inquest matters with an accent on prosecution evidence analysis, witness statement drafting, and case strategy development. Focus on managing high-pressure legal cases from incident inception through to resolution while building strong client relationships.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester (Hybrid)

What you will do

  • Analyze prosecution evidence and assess implications for clients.
  • Draft witness statements and review client evidence.
  • Liaise with courts, coroners, regulators, and external experts.
  • Prepare defense case statements, sentencing, and mitigation bundles.
  • Attend interviews under caution, inquests, and trials alongside Counsel.
  • Support clients sensitively in challenging and high-pressure situations.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year of experience in Health & Safety, Regulatory, or Criminal law.
  • Experience with inquests, ideally within care home or similar settings.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident working with case management systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Professional, resilient, and empathetic approach to client handling.
