What you will do
- Lead the creation of complex, high-resolution digital matte paintings and environment projections.
- Collaborate with VFX supervisors and directors to establish artistic vision and technical approaches.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows to solve creative and technical challenges.
- Oversee the integration of matte paintings into final shots alongside lighting and compositing teams.
- Act as a key creative voice in project meetings and reviews.
- Mentor junior artists and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a digital matte painter in a senior or lead role.
- Mastery of Photoshop and deep understanding of 3D software like Maya and Nuke.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing composition, light, color, and photo-realism.
- Extensive knowledge of the VFX pipeline and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of mentoring.
- Must be based in Australia or willing to relocate (sponsorship available).
