Associate - Large Loss/Catastrophic Injury Claims (Legal): Managing a portfolio of high-value and catastrophic injury claims with an accent on liability, quantum, and indemnity issues. Focus on providing strategic legal advice to insurer clients, drafting complex pleadings, and collaborating with counsel to drive successful litigation outcomes.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Glasgow office for hybrid work (one day per week)

What you will do

  • Manage a caseload of up to 45 high-value and catastrophic injury claims exceeding £1m.
  • Advise insurer clients on claim strategy, liability, and quantum throughout the litigation lifecycle.
  • Draft technical pleadings and analyze extensive medical and legal evidence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and opposing solicitors.
  • Attend site visits, mediations, and joint settlement meetings.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team performance targets.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with relevant experience in high-value multi-track cases.
  • Solid understanding of case law, litigation processes, and insurance principles.
  • Strong advocacy, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage workloads and perform under pressure.
  • Must be able to work from the Glasgow office one day per week.
