Sr. Staff Test Engineer (PCBA Test Development)

Location: Malaysia; willingness to travel to EMS locations in the Far East up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Design complete Teradyne TestStation TSLH hardware and software solutions for ICT, FCT, and ISP testing of PCBAs in series production.
• Support and troubleshoot Teradyne, Konrad LeonBench, Vitrek, MPS, and Microtest test systems at EMS facilities, including yield analysis.
• Implement test programs and fixtures for new PCBA and transformer variants.
• Develop test automation tools and backend data management systems using Python and Django.
• Prepare DFT reports, test specifications, test reports, release procedures, and capability studies including Gage R&R, Cp/Cpk, and MSA.
• Lead tester installation, release, buy-off, and continuous improvement while coordinating with the Test Engineering team in Biel, Switzerland.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in PCBA, electrical component, and integrated circuit test development and production support.
• BSc or MSc degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong expertise in electronics, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design, fixture development, and complex PCBA failure analysis.
• Programming experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, LabWindows/CVI, C, C++, and C#; Django and SQL experience is advantageous.
• Advanced ICT and FCT programming skills on Teradyne Spectrum/TestStation or Keysight Medalist i3070 platforms, plus PCB design experience with Altium Designer.
• Experience with automotive-grade PCB assemblies and VDA/IATF requirements; excellent spoken and written English required.

Nice to have

• NI certifications such as CLD, CLA, CTD, or CTA.
• Experience with Takaya or SPEA flying-probe systems.
• Knowledge of Partial Discharge Testing and Transformer Safety Testing.
