EDA Design Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work

What you will do

• Design and implement hardware development methodologies for technology nodes and EDA tool enablement.
• Create, verify, and integrate hardware designs and platforms into hierarchical systems for end-to-end EDA tool testing.
• Develop, test, and analyze design automation tools, flows, and methodologies to improve efficiency and optimize power and performance.
• Enhance platforms, databases, scripts, and tool flows supporting design automation.
• Collaborate with EDA vendors on the definition and early testing of next-generation design tools.
• Apply knowledge of digital design, verification, physical layout, chip integration, power and performance optimization, clocking, and timing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 0–2 years of hands-on experience through internships, academic projects, coursework, or training, or a relevant master's degree with no prior professional experience.
• Proficiency in hardware design tools and EDA workflows.
• Strong understanding of digital design principles, verification methodologies, and physical layout concepts.
• Proficiency in AI, Python, C++, TCL, and SKILL.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
