Technical Program Manager (Power Electronics)

Location: Scotts Valley, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

hirify.global is a startup developing scalable power electronics, including inverters and rectifiers, for renewable energy, storage, loads, and grid electrification.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end technical execution for the first product launch, translating system goals into milestones across concept, architecture, validation, and manufacturing launch.
• Coordinate power electronics, embedded firmware/software, systems integration, test, reliability, compliance, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Define product requirements, validation strategies, decision gates, and the plan of record with technical leads.
• Facilitate architecture, design readiness, and validation readiness reviews while identifying and managing technical risks.
• Own engineering BOM strategy and NPI readiness, balancing performance, cost, availability, and manufacturability.
• Establish DFMEA-driven risk management and promote early issue resolution and disciplined execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power electronics focus, or equivalent technical depth.
• 5+ years leading complex multidisciplinary engineering programs involving power electronics, embedded firmware, or tightly coupled hardware-software systems.
• Strong understanding of converter architectures, control strategies, system-level tradeoffs, control loops, timing constraints, and hardware-software dependencies.
• Experience driving products from concept through validation and manufacturing launch, including prototype builds and design iterations.
• Strong grasp of DFM principles and power electronics hardware testing and scaling.
• Excellent communication skills, technical risk analysis, and the ability to influence engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with inverters, rectifiers, or other high-power conversion systems.
• Experience with PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, embedded firmware, or power electronics control systems.
• Experience with BOM ownership, PLM, change management, NPI, and Enovia or CATIA.
• Experience with UL/IEC compliance and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
