Company

Startup building cutting-edge power electronics for the grid to accelerate the electrification of everything.

What you will do

  • Drive end-to-end technical execution of the first product launch, from concept through architecture, validation, and launch.
  • Coordinate hardware and control-software roadmaps across electronics, firmware, and systems integration teams.
  • Lead program planning for hardware design, embedded firmware, reliability, compliance, and manufacturing.
  • Partner with technical leads to define product requirements, validation strategies, and decision gates.
  • Own engineering BOM strategy and NPI readiness to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Establish and track DFMEA-driven risk management to identify and mitigate design and manufacturing failures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (power electronics focus strongly preferred).
  • 5+ years leading complex multidisciplinary engineering programs involving power electronics or hardware-software systems.
  • Strong technical foundation in converter architectures, control strategies, and system-level tradeoffs.
  • Experience working with firmware teams on control loops, timing constraints, and hardware-software dependencies.
  • Proven ability to drive programs from concept through validation and manufacturing launch.
  • Must be based in or able to work on-site in Scotts Valley.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience designing, validating, or debugging inverters and rectifiers.
  • Proficiency with power electronics simulation tools like PLECS, MATLAB, or Simulink.
  • Experience with UL/IEC compliance for power conversion equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Enovia), CATIA, or Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative and enriching environment conducive to personal and technical growth.
  • Dynamic culture driven by first-principles engineering and solving difficult problems.
  • Competitive compensation including salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
