Logistics Specialist III (Logistics)

TL;DR

Logistics Specialist III (Logistics): Supporting transportation operations for a key customer account with an accent on rail operations. Focus on managing shipment activity, resolving operational issues between railroads and carriers, and optimizing freight movement across the network.

Location: Hybrid based out of Exton, PA office (onsite Tuesday through Thursday, remotely Monday and Friday)

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day rail transportation operations to ensure freight moves efficiently and on schedule.
• Coordinate with customers, railroads, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipment and service-related issues.
• Serve as the primary operational support for rail movements across multiple freight modes.
• Execute customer standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
• Monitor operational KPIs and identify process improvement opportunities to close operational gaps.
• Manage high-volume communication and prioritize urgent requests via email and system updates.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Exton, PA (Hybrid schedule).
• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business.
• Experience in rail and/or intermodal transportation.
• Experience supporting chemical, gas, bulk, or specialized freight operations.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
