TL;DR

Development Engineer MMIC Characterization (RF): Planning and executing high-frequency measurements on MMICs above 100 GHz with an accent on on-wafer testing and automation. Focus on analyzing measurement results, performing root-cause analysis, and optimizing MMIC architecture.

Location: Must be based in or be able to work from Duisburg or Munich, Germany (with opportunities for home office)

What you will do

  • Plan and execute mmWave measurements on MMICs operating above 100 GHz.
  • Perform on-wafer tests using a wafer probe station, including load-pull, S-parameter, and noise characterizations.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve measurement methods, test setups, and automation scripts.
  • Analyze measurement results and collaborate with the design team for debugging and root-cause analysis.
  • Support process-voltage-temperature (PVT) analyses and corner-validation activities.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and provide release recommendations based on characterization data.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in MMIC/RF characterization above 100 GHz.
  • Proficiency with wafer-probe stations and on-wafer measurement techniques.
  • Experience operating vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Strong skills in automating test procedures using Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent.
  • Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with load-pull, noise, or large-signal characterization.
  • Knowledge of GaAs, GaN, or SiGe technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with PVT analysis and the overall MMIC design flow.
  • German language skills.
