What you will do

• Create and submit healthcare claims to insurance companies, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Review medical criteria and patient documentation to verify they meet required standards.
• Communicate with patients to provide claim status updates and handle the collection of outstanding invoices.
• Conduct investigational calls to insurance providers to determine the status of outstanding claims.
• Negotiate structured payment plans and maintain up-to-date patient claim information in the CRM.
• Ensure all activities comply with company policies, HIPAA, and other regulatory and legal requirements.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
• Proven experience working within a HIPAA controlled environment.
• Proficiency in CMS billing codes, modifiers, and Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) 1500 forms.

Nice to have

• Experience billing durable medical equipment (DME).
• Background in diabetes or other disease management device/diagnostics.
