Salary: £40,000 - £110,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design and develop reliable backend services and infrastructure tooling.
• Write clean, maintainable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Build and maintain automated test suites to ensure system quality.
• Monitor and improve the reliability, observability, and performance of key services.
• Work closely with clients to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to improvements in system architecture and deployment pipelines.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js or a similar language.
• Solid understanding of TDD and automated testing practices.
• Experience working directly with clients to gather requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience managing backend systems in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
• Knowledge of scaling systems to handle sustained high traffic or workloads.
