TL;DR
Python Software Engineer (Big Data): Building scalable data platforms, workflows, and pipelines for real-time threat detection and cybersecurity intelligence with an accent on distributed storage, streaming, and parallel data processing. Focus on managing terabytes of data, integrating Kubernetes-based automation, and contributing to AI-driven detection and model-serving components.
Location: Hybrid position based in Bratislava, Slovakia, or Prague, Czech Republic
Salary: From €2,600 gross per month, with the possibility of an individual increase based on skills and experience. Performance bonus up to 10% of the basic salary, paid twice per year.

What you will do
- Develop backend services and large-scale Big Data platforms for cybersecurity and automated threat detection.
- Manage terabytes of data across distributed storage systems including Impala, ScyllaDB, and Apache Druid.
- Build messaging, streaming, and parallel-processing solutions with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Apache Flink.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data workflows and pipelines.
- Build monitoring and automation pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams on massive-data processing.
- Contribute to AI-driven components such as machine learning pipelines, AI agents, and model-serving infrastructure.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Python programming.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and RESTful API frameworks such as Flask.
- Expertise with Apache Kafka and messaging or streaming systems.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Apache Druid, or HBase.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, Jenkins, and Git.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Bratislava or Prague.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java or C/C++.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, AI agents, model serving, FastAPI, Ray Serve, or MCP-style architectures.
