What you will do
- Investigate hybrid radiation pattern synthesis using element-level or subarray-level lens loading.
- Develop sparse and aperiodic phased-array topologies integrated with electromagnetic lenses.
- Research array-fed lens systems, including GRIN and other advanced lens architectures.
- Design multifunctional and modular antenna concepts for simultaneous communication and sensing.
- Perform electromagnetic modeling, optimization, and prototyping of millimeter-wave systems.
- Conduct experimental validation using 3D-printing and Europe-leading measurement laboratories.
Requirements
- MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Microwave Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in electromagnetics, antennas, and microwave engineering.
- Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or FEKO.
- Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or similar environments.
- English proficiency required for communicating, writing scientific articles, and completing the doctoral thesis.
- Relocation to the Netherlands is required to utilize laboratory and measurement facilities.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of phased arrays, antenna synthesis, or computational electromagnetics.
- Experience with RF hardware prototyping or additive manufacturing technologies.
