Location: Must be located in Canada or the USA and able to work within EST/EDT hours

What you will do

• Guide design and architecture of critical system components for the flagship Retail product.
• Analyze existing systems to improve architecture, reduce duplication, and enhance performance.
• Drive improvements in system reliability and identify recurring patterns leading to incidents.
• Uplevel engineering craft through design reviews, testing, deployment, and incident management.
• Mentor engineers and conduct architectural deep-dives across services teams.
• Contribute to organizational objectives and foster a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a technical leader for multiple teams.
• 2+ years of experience managing architecture for 35+ engineers.
• Proven track record of developing business-critical cloud systems at scale.
• Experience in multiple technology stacks (e.g., Go, PHP, Java, RoR, Python).
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Expertise in distributed and multi-region cloud systems.
• Deep knowledge of domain-driven software development.
• Retail or Ecommerce domain experience.
• Experience with people management.
