TL;DR

Outbound Solutions Architect (Email Security): Assisting organizations in transitioning from legacy Secure Email Gateways (SEGs) to platform-native email security with an accent on architecture-level technical discussions and migration orchestration. Focus on quantifying risk reduction and cost savings while solving complex SEG displacement objections.

Location: Must be eligible to access controlled technology under U.S. export control laws (EAR)

What you will do

  • Drive strategy and prioritization of accounts with legacy SEGs to build a qualified displacement pipeline.
  • Lead architecture-level conversations and address technical objections regarding SEG displacement.
  • Translate legacy capabilities (DLP, URL isolation, DMARC) into Abnormal-equivalent workflows.
  • Develop customer-specific business cases quantifying risk reduction and operational cost savings.
  • Manage advanced testing and proof of concept requirements via passthrough testing.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to influence product direction and strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or Solutions Architecture with deep focus on email/messaging security.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Exchange on-premises.
  • Strong knowledge of SEGs (Barracuda, Mimecast, Proofpoint) and ICES deployment methods.
  • Expertise in SMTP, TLS, DMARC, Encryption, Spam Scanning, and Payload Analysis.
  • Proven track record of owning SEG replacement projects and operating in an outcome-based quota model.
  • Must be eligible to access controlled technology under U.S. export control laws.

Nice to have

  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or Microsoft/Google Messaging Administrator.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and Behavioral Analysis in the context of email security.
  • Experience working in post-sales capacities alongside Customer Success teams.
