What you will do

• Develop aerodynamic and aerothermal models for hypersonic flight vehicles across various Mach numbers and conditions.
• Perform CFD analyses to predict pressure, heating, flow separation, and shock interactions using tools like STAR-CCM+ and Fluent.
• Analyze steady-state and transient thermal environments to support TPS, structures, and propulsion integration.
• Create and validate aerodynamic databases for simulation, guidance, and flight performance analysis.
• Correlate CFD predictions with wind tunnel, arc-jet, and flight test data to improve model fidelity.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop automated tools for fluid dynamic analysis using Python or MATLAB.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in aerodynamic, aerothermal, or CFD analysis for high-speed flight systems.
• Strong expertise in compressible fluid dynamics and hypersonic aerodynamics.
• Proficiency with CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+, Fluent, FUN3D, or CFD++.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for data processing and workflow automation.
• U.S. citizenship is required for the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
