TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Los Angeles, CA. Role requires U.S. Person status for ITAR compliance.

Salary: $123,000–$200,000 + equity

What you will do

  • Design and implement beam planning algorithms for satellite constellations.
  • Develop physics-based models for spacecraft communication systems and subsystems.
  • Perform constellation performance analysis to support engineering and business decisions.
  • Create and maintain simulation software infrastructure for 20kW+ spacecraft.
  • Develop robust tooling for rapid deployment of high-quality production code.
  • Conduct data analysis and anomaly investigation to resolve on-orbit issues.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, green card holder, or protected individual) for ITAR compliance.
  • Must be based in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Rust, C++, or similar compiled languages.
  • Experience with scientific Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and CI/CD systems.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in physics, aerospace, electrical engineering, or operations research.
  • Experience with optimization algorithms, graph theory, or scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of space communication modeling (RF propagation, interference, ground networks).
  • Experience with Monte Carlo simulations, probability, and statistics.
  • Background in spacecraft modeling and orbital mechanics.
