What you will do

• Lead hands-on development of backend services using Node.js for web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects to maintain the health of the backend ecosystem and orchestrate platform integrations.
• Establish engineering standards for API design, secure cloud deployment, and code reviews.
• Manage the day-to-day delivery and velocity of distributed onshore and nearshore backend teams.
• Provide technical mentorship and coaching to developers through peer reviews.
• Communicate technical roadmaps and business value to C-suite executives and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with Node.js and modern backend microservices.
• Proven track record of managing and leading distributed development teams.
• Experience building and deploying scalable services in cloud environments (Microsoft Azure highly advantageous).
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical designs.
• Must be located near or be able to work in Reading / Thames Valley (Hybrid).
