What you will do
- Oversee legal strategy and provide direct supervision to a team of attorneys and DOJ-accredited representatives.
- Develop and monitor intake procedures, case acceptance policies, and caseload targets.
- Provide direct legal representation to a limited caseload of clients before USCIS, including complex cases.
- Lead all aspects of the grant cycle, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community-based organizations and nonprofit legal providers.
- Collaborate with the HQ Legal Services Technical Unit to refresh program policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Law degree (JD or LLM) from an ABA-accredited U.S. institution and member in good standing of any state bar.
- 5-7 years of experience providing direct representation to refugees and humanitarian migrants.
- At least 2 years of experience supervising attorneys or DOJ accredited representatives.
- Experience managing and administering private and public grants.
- Ability to travel frequently within the service area.
Nice to have
- Bilingual proficiency in one or more languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic).
- Fundraising experience.
- Program management experience.
