Performance Engineer (Energy Storage)

TL;DR

Performance Engineer (Energy Storage): Evaluating and optimizing the performance of battery energy storage systems with an accent on data acquisition, battery DC/AC analysis, and contractual compliance. Focus on performing root cause analysis, developing acceptance test plans, and collaborating cross-functionally to implement design enhancements.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) in Alpharetta, GA or Houston, TX. Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Evaluate site performance in alignment with customer contractual commitments and expectations.
• Conduct battery DC and AC data analysis using Python and AWS tools (S3, SageMaker).
• Prepare testing reports and develop acceptance test plans based on contractual requirements and single line diagrams.
• Review and provide redlines to customer contracts during the sales phase.
• Collaborate with battery, sales, and product teams to identify and implement performance improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to provide recommendations for improving site performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience working with an energy storage company.
• Proficiency in Python and AWS tools such as S3 and SageMaker.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
