What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the public API product used by developers and enterprise customers.
• Own the API surface end-to-end, including versioning, naming, and long-term maintainability.
• Abstract complex AI image models into simple, developer-facing interfaces.
• Iterate quickly based on real usage data and user feedback.
• Collaborate with product, machine learning, and sales teams to deliver high-value features.
• Ensure API reliability, performance, and scalability under heavy load.

Requirements

• Must be based in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, or the UK.
• Strong experience building backend systems in Python with a focus on public-facing APIs.
• Proficiency with FastAPI or similar frameworks, async patterns, and concurrency.
• Experience contributing to the design of public APIs, including versioning and consistency.
• Pragmatic, product-minded approach with a focus on impact and speed.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with API deployment patterns like Docker and uvicorn/gunicorn.
• Knowledge of image processing libraries such as Pillow or pyvips.
• Experience integrating AI/image models behind APIs.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Background in building developer-facing tooling.
