Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Qingdao, Shandong, China; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and technical decision-making for power electronics systems and components, including power conversion and electric-drive-related electronic units.
• Define and review system- and component-level solutions, design specifications, and interface requirements.
• Guide prototype builds, system integration, testing, performance analysis, and root-cause failure investigations.
• Identify design risks and drive cross-disciplinary solutions with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams.
• Support supplier technical evaluations, capability assessments, and resolution of critical technical issues.
• Review technical documentation, design reviews, and test reports while identifying product improvement opportunities from emerging technologies and materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• Senior-level experience designing complex products or systems from concept through production launch.
• Hands-on development experience in power electronics, electric drive, electrical systems, or new energy products.
• Strong knowledge of power devices, power conversion topologies, system-level integration, engineering design processes, design reviews, and validation methods.
• Ability to analyze complex engineering problems systematically, communicate technical conclusions clearly, and make optimized decisions across interacting subsystems.
• Experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical lead, including work on cross-regional or cross-functional projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with C or MATLAB, motor-control software development, CANape, CANalyzer, and CAN communication protocols.
• Knowledge of quality, reliability, and continuous improvement methodologies.
