What you will do

• Lead the modernization of legacy software systems into scalable enterprise architectures.
• Architect, write, and optimize custom software solutions, APIs, and integration scripts for mission-critical systems.
• Configure and manage DevSecOps pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure.
• Design and implement automated workflows and data integration pipelines for data governance tracking.
• Conduct technical root cause analysis, code reviews, and performance tuning on active deployments.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, low-level designs (LLDs), and software architecture diagrams.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is mandatory.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or commensurate professional experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+).
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Go and full-stack frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Alexandria, VA.

Nice to have

• Prior experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) modernization programs.
• Experience developing custom integrations for the Collibra data governance platform.
• Knowledge of metadata schemas, RESTful APIs, and SQL/NoSQL database structures.
• Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum, microservices architecture, and automated testing frameworks.
