System Administrator (Windows)

Location: Hybrid in Dartmouth, NS. Candidates must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status for security clearance.

What you will do

• Maintain and configure computer systems, servers, and IT infrastructure for the EHS Medical Communications Centre.
• Perform upgrades and installations of server hardware and software, managing virtualized environments.
• Develop and manage automated business systems based on stakeholder needs.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for operational systems, troubleshooting hardware and software errors.
• Manage backups, recovery functions, and monitor server performance.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and software vendors to ensure system enhancements.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or IT.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration with Windows OS.
• MCSE or A+ Certification (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of SQL Database management, VMware, and scripting/automation tools.
• Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B).
• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, Azure Cloud, and Windows Cluster Service (WSFC).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Healthcare Technology Systems (CAD, e-PCR).
• Experience with VOIP Telephony systems.
• Knowledge of incident tracking tools like Cherwell, Zendesk, or Jira.
