What you will do
- Drive the technical strategy across Partners engineering teams, from architecture decisions to hands-on implementation.
- Design core backend services for high-performance distributed systems with a focus on scale and reliability.
- Act as the technical authority on partner integrations, shaping how third-party PSPs connect with the platform.
- Lead and influence engineers across teams through code, design reviews, and technical mentorship.
- Resolve cross-team technical dependencies and drive the adoption of BDD, TDD, and rigorous documentation.
- Collaborate with Product teams to shape roadmap decisions based on technical constraints and opportunities.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience at Staff or Principal level, setting technical direction across multiple teams.
- Deep backend engineering expertise with a track record of designing scalable distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of payments infrastructure or developer platform engineering.
- Proficiency in Python is a strong advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to make complex decisions legible to stakeholders.
- Must be based in Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or South Africa.
