What you will do

• Design and operate core systems for ledgering, transaction processing, and money movement.
• Build correct-by-design systems focusing on idempotency, strong consistency, and full auditability.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of financial transactions, including failure handling, retries, and reconciliation.
• Integrate with external financial partners, including banks, processors, and card networks.
• Lead architectural decisions and author technical approach documents to clarify trade-offs.
• Mentor other engineers and establish best practices for building high-integrity financial systems.

Requirements

• Experience building financial systems such as payments, card issuing, wallets, or banking infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, including ISO 8583 messaging and authorization/clearing/settlement flows.
• Experience with double-entry accounting concepts and ledger system design.
• Proven track record of building real-time decisioning systems that handle real money at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Strong understanding of data consistency, idempotency, and failure modes in distributed systems.

• Experience with cross-border transactions and global money movement.
