What you will do

• Conduct routine and focused audits of medical coding for compliance with CMS, payer, and organizational standards.
• Review medical records and claims data to assess the accuracy of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier assignments.
• Develop and deliver education and feedback to coders and providers to improve documentation quality.
• Identify coding errors and trends to prepare detailed audit reports with actionable findings.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation, including documentation requests and validation reviews.
• Maintain audit tracking logs, productivity reports, and accuracy metrics.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Active AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS-P, CCS) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience, with 1-2 years specifically in coding audit, QA, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of HCC / risk adjustment coding principles and clinical documentation improvement.
• Deep familiarity with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifier assignment.
• Proficiency in EHR systems (Elation), encoder software, and Google Suite.
