Principal Data Scientist (Biotech)

TL;DR

Principal Data Scientist (AI/ML): Developing and deploying advanced analytical and machine learning solutions to optimize commercial strategies in the pharmaceutical domain with an accent on Next Best Action models and patient/HCP analytics. Focus on building production-grade AI applications using Snowflake and Databricks, applying causal inference, and implementing LLM-powered workflows.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in Boston, MA (option to work remotely up to two days per week).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy ML solutions including propensity scoring, HCP segmentation, and recommendation engines.
• Develop patient and HCP analytics to support targeting, activation, and reactivation strategies.
• Apply causal inference and experimental methods to assess the impact of marketing and field interventions.
• Build production-grade AI solutions and decision support tools within Snowflake and Databricks environments.
• Collaborate with commercial leadership to translate business requirements into a scalable solution roadmap.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists to foster a strong analytics culture.

Requirements

• PhD in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, CS, Engineering, Applied Math) or a Master's degree with significant experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on data science experience (8+ years for Senior Principal level).
• Proven experience building and deploying ML solutions in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience working with healthcare or life sciences data (claims, EHR, commercial data) is strongly preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the US (E-Verify employer).

Nice to have

• Experience building or productionizing LLM-powered applications (RAG pipelines, agentic workflows).
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks.
