Water Resources Intern (Civil Engineering)

What you will do

• Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for storm drainage, floodplain studies, and dam safety.
• Support the preparation of construction drawings for stormwater facilities and Green Infrastructure.
• Conduct field investigations including stormwater infrastructure inspections and stream assessments.
• Utilize ArcGIS for mapping, data analysis, and watershed characterization.
• Assist in the production of technical memoranda, permit applications, and cost estimates.
• Research regulatory requirements and emerging water management technologies.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
• Completed coursework in Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology, or Hydraulics is highly preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D and ArcGIS.
• Exposure to H&H software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or SWMM.
