Land Development Designer

TL;DR

What you will do

• Support design and development of land projects including site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Prepare construction documents, plans, and exhibits using Civil 3D.
• Assist with site grading, stormwater design, utility layout, and design calculations.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and local agencies for permitting and project delivery.
• Participate in field visits and construction support.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0–6+ years of experience in land development or civil site design.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design principles.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication, and teamwork.

Nice to have

• EIT certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience with Utah municipalities or development standards.
• Familiarity with hydrology, stormwater tools, permitting, and agency coordination.
• Previous internship in land development design.
