What you will do

• Own the design, development, and qualification of ordnance systems including initiators, detonators, and safe & arm devices.
• Define interface specifications across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Lead supplier engagement and build-to-print efforts with a focus on manufacturability and performance.
• Drive test planning, execution, and analysis for ordnance systems including arena and environmental qualification.
• Collaborate with systems, propulsion, and GNC teams to ensure safe integration into the full weapon system.
• Manage documentation and compliance with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-1910, and other relevant standards.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ordnance or energetics design, analysis, and testing.
• Familiarity with DoD and NASA standards such as MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1901A.
• Hands-on test experience in high-consequence environments.

Nice to have

• Experience working with DoD customers and military qualification processes.
• Background in hypersonics, missile systems, or space launch vehicles.
• Proficiency in CAD and mechanical analysis tools like SolidWorks and FEA.
• Experience with additive manufacturing and defense startup environments.
