Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Senior Simulation Engineer (Robotics): Building the foundational simulation and robotic infrastructure for the AI Science Factory with an accent on virtual environments and sim-to-real transfer. Focus on designing modular USD scene libraries, developing Python-based automation for Omniverse, and reducing the sim-to-real gap.
Location: Cambridge, MA, USA
Salary: $144,000 - $240,000 USD
Company
is building autonomous science platforms and "Scientific Superintelligence" to accelerate discovery across medicine, materials, and energy.
What you will do
- Design and maintain modular, reusable simulation scene libraries using Universal Scene Description (USD).
- Build Python-based tooling and automation around the Omniverse Kit API for programmatic scene construction and headless Isaac Sim workflows.
- Develop internal simulation SDKs, APIs, and developer tools to enable scalable simulation platform growth.
- Prototype and evaluate physics calibration, sensor modeling, and GPU-accelerated motion planning using cuRobo.
- Implement domain randomization strategies with NVIDIA Replicator and benchmark sim-to-real performance.
- Collaborate with ML and robotics teams to characterize and reduce the sim-to-real gap through physics parameter tuning.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to work at the facility in Cambridge, MA, USA
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in simulation engineering, robotics software, or a related field.
- Proficiency with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and the Omniverse Kit framework, including Python scripting via Omniverse API.
- Solid understanding of USD, including authoring modular scenes with references, payloads, and composition arcs.
- Familiarity with robot kinematics (FK/IK, motion planning) and joint control implemented programmatically.
- Strong Python skills for writing clean, maintainable, production-quality code.
Nice to have
- Experience with headless Isaac Sim for automated workflows and cloud-based simulation workloads.
- Knowledge of cuRobo, MoveIt2, or OMPL for trajectory optimization and motion planning.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Replicator, OmniGraph, and Isaac Lab for RL-based training.
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 and sensor simulation (cameras, depth, LiDAR).
- C++ experience for performance-critical simulation extensions.
Culture & Benefits
- Competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity.
- Comprehensive U.S. and International benefits packages.
- High-impact environment operating with startup speed to solve problems of historic importance.
- Culture guided by core values of truth, trust, curiosity, grit, and velocity.
